This piece originated from a deposit underneath the Baltic Sea referred to as the "Blue Earth". Between 30 & 35 million years ago, there was a prehistoric forest where the Baltic Sea now lies and, during the last ice age, the tree sap began petrifying to produce this amazing gift.
