These delicate drop earrings shine in gleaming 14 karat yellow gold tipped with richly saturated purple amethyst stones. Small round amethyst studs give way to slender gold bars that are tipped with pear-shaped amethyst drops. The earrings are subtle in scale and have a hinged design for a gentle sway. They are set on 14 karat yellow gold posts and fasten with friction back closures. The four amethyst stones featured here are richly saturated with a medium purple hue and a beautiful faceted cut. Purple amethyst is February's birthstone and a gemstone prized by royalty throughout the ages for its regal purple hue. It is beautifully complemented by the rich, warm tones of yellow gold.

These earrings are dainty and cute. If you are looking for something bold and striking, I would not recommend them. They are about 20mm in the length, fairly small. The amethysts are a beautiful color and look perfect with the 14k gold. I bought these as a gift for my mom and I think they are a steal for under $40.

They're very pretty. They are, however, a little smaller than I expected. It's hard to get an idea of the size from the picture.
